The Academy is committed to teaching as a means of encouraging and stimulating
the best possible progress and achievement for all of the students.
The development of positive attitudes towards learning and
towards positive interactions with other people is an integral part
of that commitment.
The Academy seeks to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and skills
to enable them to think creatively and critically, solve problems
and develop aesthetic and physical abilities. The curriculum for 1st through 8th
grade follows the Core Knowledge curriculum for its foundation
subjects of English, mathematics, science, social studies, art and
music and supplements with additional subjects under the guidance of
the international education coordinator. In addition, The Academy is the only school
in the U.S. to be accredited for the Cambridge International Primary Program—which sets
standards in English, math and science for 1st through 8th Grades.
